Be prepared to have others follow.

I thought this was a great verse to add under 614 goals and of course all Jesus followers out there:

"Mark out a straight path for your feet. Then those who follow you, though they are weak and lame, will not stumble and fall but will become strong." -Hebrews 12:13

The way I look at it, this verse is all about Discipleship.
You can't just walk into Discipleship unprepared-- if you aren't prepared, walking on the staight path that God has set out for you, then those you want to see trained up for the Kingdom are going to stumble and be hurt. Now we don't want any of that now do we.

Be prepared, Be committed.

Deep Peace.

Good word, Jenn. That scripture sort of speaks to me, too, that we will have followers whether we intentionally choose disciples or not. Someone is always watching us, and more often than not emulating us. Integrity and our own discipline are pretty key, eh?

Miss you, babe - tonnes. I almost feel like going to White Spot just to have breakfast in your honour. ;)

Amen to that Jenn.

A couple of years ago as I was meditating on Isa 61:4, it really struck me that the "they" in that passage (who will be rebuilding, restoring, and renewing) are those being released from captivity and blindness now.

Our role, it then became clear, is largely to set straight paths so that others will not stumble on their way to rebuilding, restoring, and renewing. It is a call to personal and corporate holiness, and probably the most important thing we can give to those coming after us.

Grace,

Aaron
