Christmas Time is here...

Well I figured I would blog and say Happy Christmas!
( I seem to like Happy more than Merry, it it a reminder that Christmas is a birthday..)

The Gills headed out today for their long drive to Florida. They will be having a warm Christmas-- Pray for their safe travels and for nice weather.

Josh and I head out tonight for Toronto for the Ivany Christmas. Then the Burr side of the family comes in on Boxing Day-- Pray for safe travels for every one.

Ryan and Tasha are sticking around for a bit, then they head out to meet up with us for Christmas. Nice-- Pray for their safe travels and a happy baby.

Dan, also coming to the Ivany household, he's traveling with R&T&G-- Pray for his safe travels and good times.

Geoff, faithful, great, beloved, friend Geoff, is taking care of the home front while we are all heading out-- Pray for his peace and protection.

Well, and those I may have missed, are sticking around London, taking care of things here...

Peace to you all during this time of year.

Community

Last night we had over a good handful of people to hang out and play some games.
Community.
We all get to hang out an have a great time while we share in the snacks that each person brought.
Community.
I love the people I have come here with and the people I have come to know here in London.
Community.
Just had a phone call to babysit while a busy Mom gets some time away.
Community.
Loving one another through it all.
Community.

Need I say more.

Peace.

*Out in the cold... Together.*

Tonight we went out as a cell group singing carols around the neighbourhood..
All bundled up...There were, I believe, 12 of us in all. Nice.
The kids for sure were a great touch. They rang the doorbells.

First stop was the local police department, sweet. Then, we hit up some homes, had a family come out in the cold to listen. Hit up the local coffee shop (free coffee), had some people join in with us and an invite inside for some coffee's. Stood out in front of an elderly folks home, had some people appear in the windows: loved it.
Sang on every floor of our apartment building, had some people come out, even a woman with a blanket who sat on the floor and asked for more--- hey that rhymes...
Overall, it was a good time. We were blessed and I believe others were blessed as well.

Nice community God seems to be building up here. Love each one of 'em. Thanks Lord.

Peace to you.

Today as we drove to the store...

Me too.

Bubble, Bubble...POP!

Did you know that when it snows people are forced to walk closer on the sidewalks?
(And I am sure that a whole bunch of you are thinking of Seal's song at the moment...)
Which means forcing one another into other peoples bubbles..

Since we have had a major down fall of snow here lately, I have realized more people saying hello or smiling at me as I walk on the street...
Because we are all sliding by one another on the sidewalks trying not to ram one another. There isn't a whole lot of room to pass one another so, it forces you to penetrate the other person's 'PERSONAL' bubble...
Then once the bubble is penetrated there is nothing else to do BUT make contact.
I like it.
Try walking into some one's bubble and becoming a part of their life.

And in closing,
Thank you city of London for giving us a few days until you cleared off the sidewalks...

Nice.

Peace on earth.

Worst Movies

So I started writing this post a couple of nights ago and then saved it as a draft, and now I'm just building on the previous post from Jenn!
The other night, Jenn, Josh, Tasha and I watched 'Pieces of April'. It's actually not a bad movie, but it started slow and we wondered if we were in for a regrettable 80 minutes. I'll admit, it's different, but it kept my attention and had a worthy ending. Anyway, as a result, we got onto the topic of our worst movies, so I thought I would post my worst movies and then you can either post a reply with your own or just comment on how right/wrong I am! These were the ones that made me want to throw my tv out of the window or walk out of the theatre and never watch a movie again.
They're in no particular order, but I would recommend avoiding them all. To avoid any unhealthy consequences, I should make the disclaimer that the views represented are my own and not necessarily those of 614 London!!!

My Worst Movies Ever!

  1. Freedomland (plain stupid and made me so annoyed, I had to walk away from the TV)
  2. The Mosquito Coast (dull enough to kill a grown man. We skipped to the end of the DVD just to see if anyone died and even then we weren't too bothered who did! I had so much respect for Harrison Ford, before I watched this, but then I guess this was before he really got famous, so I'll forgive him!)
  3. Lost in Translation (Mind numbingly boring. I wanted to leave the theatre from about halfway through, but I made it to the last 20 minutes before I walked out with boredom pains.)
  4. Open Water (Sorry to spoil the plot. People left in open water eaten by sharks. That's it. Not much tension, not much action, not much acting. Just water. Don't watch it....please.)

Wow...I thought I would have more horrible movies on my list than that but I can't think of any more than 4. I'm sure I'll think of a couple more eventually. Join the fun... ...post your worst movies under the "Comments"!

Any Good Movies out there?!

Okay well, I have realized that there are some stinky movies out there.
I enjoy watching movies, all different kinds, as long as it's good, right?
So to help some of us out over here in London, could you give us some good movies that are out there, maybe your favorites...?
Nice.
